Royal Hotel Meredith

Editor’s Note: After our brief (very) mini-celebrity status at Bacchus Marsh, The Tour headed on to our next destination: the Royal Hotel Meredith. For this week John once again takes the reigns. Any criticism should definitely be levelled at him. If you have any praise, I’m not really fussed what you do with that.

Meredith. Where had I heard the name before? I mean I know it’s a girls name. But I don’t talk to girls so it’s not that. What was it? 

The Royal Hotel Meredith reminded me as soon as we walked in. Music. The Meredith Music Festival is in Meredith funny enough, and judging by the posters on the walls of the Meredith Royal, every touring band/cover band/anyone to bang a drum has also played at the Royal at some stage.

This Royal was old school but with heaps of merch, a cool front bar, a pool table, and much more impressively, a very cool beer garden complete with outdoor music stage.  I don’t know what made the beer garden feel so welcoming. It just had a real drinking beers in the sun, Sunday session vibes. A great place to see your mates and make new ones I’m sure. And no doubt a super place for live music. 

There was hardly anyone there. We had one beer and couldn’t stay long due to needing to get back on the road. It’s small. But the Royal Hotel Meredith is firmly on the list of Royals I want to get back to. It felt like we were very much at the right place, just not the right time this time. Have to return on a sunny Sunday.
