Royal Hotel Adelong
The Royal Tour has begun with the Royal Hotel, Adelong. This small town on the Snowy Mountains Highway in southern New South Wales, was officially the first stop on The Royal Tour and the first step on an epic quest.
I’d been through Adelong a couple times over the course of my work, but this was the first time I’d actually stopped in. It’s a small gold rush town with a dramatic mountain backdrop. And the end of the main street through town sits the first step on the tour: The Royal Hotel.
.The Royal Hotel Adelong is exactly what I expected from a small-town Royal (and I genuinely mean that in the best way possible). It primarily consists of the front bar area populated an array of locals lining stools at the bar. We pulled up a seat at one of the tables in the front bar area and had a schooner of the local Tumut River Brewing Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Pale Ale.
We didn’t stay long as we were just stopping in on our way to the next Royal on the list and destination for the evening. But the Royal Hotel Adelong was a quintessential Royal and the perfect way to start off the Royal Tour.
