Feel Me Flow Hazy DIPA by Fox Friday Craft Brewery
For the first beer-specific post in a little while, we head back down to Hobart and Fox Friday Craft Brewery. I’d been looking to try some Fox Friday beer for a little while and finally pulled the trigger and ordered a few beers. Easily the pick of the lot was Feel Me Flow Hazy DIPA.
A couple of mates (and loyal blog readers) had recommended Fox Friday to me on a couple of occasions. But they’re the kind of brewery where they’ll release new beers every couple of weeks. And if you want some, you’d better be ready by the computer within an hour or two of the release. This particular week, I was ready.
And I’m glad I was because Feel Me Flow is brilliant. If I wanted to, I could save everyone a lot of time reading through this post by distilling this entire beer review into a single word: smooth. Objectively this beer is both very hoppy and (at 8.2%) pretty darn boozy. But as you drink it, neither of those things really register. What does register is how unbelievable smooth the beer is. It goes down so easy from start to finish. The awesome hoppiness rises and falls like a wave before leaving just a hint of a pleasant hoppy aftertaste. And you’d never realise that this beer is as boozy as it is without checking the can.
I’ve had a lot of good beers over the years, but it’s been a while since I’ve had one that I reckon might be in my top 10 ever. I’m not positive Feel Me Flow cracks that top 10, but, at the very least, it would legitimately come close.
As I mentioned, Fox Friday special releases tend to go pretty quick. So realistically you’re probably going to have to be a bit lucky at your local craft beer bottle shop to find one at this point. But if you do, get it. Just get it.
If you can’t find a Feel Me Flow, I reckon at least give something from Fox Friday at try. You don’t fluke a beer this good, so those guys clearly know what they’re doing. I know I’m certainly going to be keeping an eye out for their next special release.
