There is admittedly probably a fair bit of bias in this one as Eden Brewery is essentially my local brewery. I pick up a few growlers a month am usually one of the first in line to get a fill of a new release. That being said, I would not be writing about them here, if they did not also make excellent beer.
Their core range is excellent with the Ponderosa IPA and the Phoenix D Kottbusser being particular favourites. The Phoenix in particular is the first and only Kottbusser I’ve ever had and is a unique and pleasant beering experience. The backstory on that particular style of beer is pretty interestingg as well. The recipe was lost when the German Reinheitsgebot laws came into effect in 1516. It has only recently been revived and the result is really worth a try.
My favourite Eden beers, however, have been their seasonal releases. The three I’ve listed above are exemplary and I can’t recommend them highly enough. But any of the seasonal/special release brews are very worthy of a try. They’re all extremely meticulously thought out, crafted, and brewed with sublime skill. Unlike so many breweries out there, nothing here is ‘thrown together’ to hop on any particular craft brewing bandwagon. You can tell the brewer puts his heart and soul into each beer he makes. And I personally enjoy the results on a regular basis.
