Cory’s Top 20 – #14 Mountain Culture Beer Co

Rank: #14

Favourite Beers: Double Red IPA, Be Kind Rewind DDH IPA, 586 West Coast IPA

Previous Blog Appearances: Double Red IPA, Be Kind Rewind DDH IPA

The next brewery on the list is a relatively new one from the Blue Mountains: Cory’s Top 20 #15 – Mountain Culture Beer Co.  If I were to go through this top 20 exercise again next year, I reckon Mountain Culture would be a good bet to make a significant jump up the list.  I’ve only had the opportunity to have about half a dozen of the beers Mountain Culture has on offer, but each one seems like it’s better than the last.

My personal favourite would have to be the Be Kind Rewind DDH IPA.  In a craft beer environment saturated with DDH IPA’s, this is one that stands out.  Not because it does anything funky or out there or super unique.  It’s because it’s just done really really well.  The hoppy citrusy bite is massive and brilliant.  But it’s not to the point where it drowns out the rest of the beer.

The best of an extensive range of beers brewing in the mountains

I’ve only been to the brewery once, and that was only to pick up some takeaways.  I’m very much looking forward to getting the opportunity to get up to the mountains to spend a lazy afternoon at some point in the hopefully not-to-distant future.  It seemed like an excellent place to settle in for a beverage or several.  And given the multitude of beers Mountain Culture puts out, I reckon I’d probably be able to make it through the whole session without sampling the same beer twice.

Mountain Culture seems like they just keep pumping out better and better beers.  They’ve got a great venue, insane variety, and brewers that certainly know what they’re doing.  And I’m looking forward to working my way through the full range of Mountain Culture’s offerings.
